Chicago Fire FC Manager Gregg Berhalter believes the clubs newest signee, Dje D’Avilla perfectly embodies the team’s philosophy following a dazzling man of the match performance against New York Red Bulls over the weekend.
The 21-year-old Ivorian midfielder stole the spotlight at Soldier field, playing a key role in Fire’s 1-0 win against Red Bulls.
After awarding D’Avilla the game Ball, Manager, Gregg Berhalter was full of praises for his rising star.
“He embodied what this game was all about, he was a monster in midfield, winning second balls, driving forward, and taking the game to the opponents”
When asked about his decision to start D’Avilla over veteran Acosta in recent games, Berhalter emphasized the squad’s depth and competition for places.
“Acosta is not injured he is fit and ready to play but we have equally good players who are ready”
